Energy-dense tractors differ from the usual ones, i.e., traction concept tractors, mainly due to the ratio of engine power to its own weight. While a regular tractor is designed so that all its power goes into the牵引 force at the hitch, an energy-dense one has a significant power reserve that can be used not only for movement but also for driving active working bodies of machines and equipment.
The main indicator that separates these machines is energy density. This is the ratio of engine operating power to the tractor's operating weight.
The formula looks like this: energy density is equal to the ratio of engine operating power to the tractor's operating weight.
For traction concept tractors, i.e., regular ones, the standard value is one and five tenths kilowatts per kilonewton for wheeled machines. All the power of such a tractor is realized through the牵引 force, and it is not intended for simultaneous driving of complex attachments that require power take-off.
Energy-dense tractors of traction-energy and energy concepts have an energy density above one and five tenths kilowatts per kilonewton. In practice, modern models often have a value from one and eight tenths to two and one tenth kilowatts per kilonewton, and some reach two and thirty-five tenths kilowatts per kilonewton and more. This means that for a unit of weight, there are significantly more horsepower.
The difference in design and purpose manifests itself as follows.
In simpler terms, a regular tractor is a strong but specialized tractor. An energy-dense one is a universal energy platform that can both pull and power complex combined units, although it requires special measures, such as ballasting, for efficient operation in simple traction modes.
